The Assessment tab allows admins to create the questions that will be part of informal, comprehension, diagnostic, and formal assessments, as well as create revision questions. Once created, the admin can attach these questions to individual items of content or chapters in the topic.

Answer type | The Answer type dropdown allows you to specify the answer type for the question. If you select the Many correct option: You must select the checkbox next to each correct answer. You can also specify how many points the user will receive for each of the correct answers, by entering a number in the field to the right of each answer. For example, each correct answer might be worth 1 point, and each incorrect answer might be worth 0.

For all answer types, with the exception of Variation and Free text, click the right-hand dropdown to select one of the following formats: Text: Enter text for each answer. Image: Upload an image for each answer and select which images are the correct answers. An example of a question with image answers might be: Which one of these signs represents "Danger of electrocution"?. Fraction: Add one or more fractions.

Working out text box | Allows the user to enter extra information to explain how and why they chose their answer. For example, if it is a mathematics question, the user might add the steps for how they worked out the answer. Info |

Calculator | Allows the user to use a on-screen calculator to work out the answer. Any calculations that are included in the user's answer automatically.

Shuffle answers | Select to shuffle the answer for this question so that they appear in a random order when viewed. It also allows the user to provide extra information related to how they worked out the answer. Info |

Assessment type | Select the assessment type. For example, if you want to add questions to an informal assessment, select Informal assessment. Image RemovedImage Added Select one of the following:
Informal: Allows a user to causally test their knowledge and see their results before participating in a formal assessment. Users can take an informal assessment for a particular chapter or item of content by clicking the Test yourself icon next to the chapter or item of content. They are then presented with questions that have been attached to the topic or item of content.
Formal: A formal way of testing a user's knowledge. A scored assessment in which the user is given a final mark at the end.Formal Assessments consist of multiple-choice questions, with either one or many correct answers that can be marked by the system. Admins can limit the number of times a formal assessment can be taken, as well as set an expiry date by which the assessment must be taken. Once a user has finished viewing a topic, they must take the formal assessment by clicking theTake formal assessment button on the topic homepage.
Comprehension: A way of testing a user's basic understanding of a topic. Comprehension assessments must be signed off by a Fuse admin, community admin, or the user's manager once the user has completed it.
Survey: A way of gather feedback from users about a topic. A take survey button will appear when the user has finished viewing the topic, prompting them to take the survey.
