Prerequisites steps
Before users can see LinkedIn Learning content in Fuse search results, your Fuse admin must raise a LinkedIn Learning integration ticket, so that the Fuse team can set up the integration.
The ticket must include:
Client ID: Your LinkedIn Learning client ID, generated in LinkedIn Learning.
Client secret: Your LinkedIn Learning client secret, generated in LinkedIn Learning.
Community ID: By default, all Fuse users will see LinkedIn Learning content in search results. However, you can control which users can see LinkedIn Learning content in search results, by specifying a community ID. Any user who is a member of this community will see LinkedIn Learning content in Fuse search results, and any user who is not, will be unable to see the content.
1. Set up a LinkedIn Learning community
In order to control which users see LinkedIn Learning content, you must set up a community and add users with LinkedIn Learning licenses to it. Only members of this community will see LinkedIn Learning courses in Fuse search results. Any users not in the community will be unable to see the content. The community can contain Fuse content or it can be completely empty, and it can be any type, including Open, Protected, Private or Public.
The community serves only to determine which users see content from LinkedIn Learning in search results. The LinkedIn Learning content does not exist within the community itself.
Note |
---|
If you do not want to create a new community specifically for this purpose, you can use one that already exists in Fuse. |
2. Generate Generate a client ID and client secret
If you do not have a client ID and secret, you can generate them in LinkedIn Learning. For information on how to do this, see this page in LinkedIn's official documentation.

In the Description field, enter a short description of your request.
In the Fuse instance field, enter the URL of your Fuse instance, so that the Support team know where to configure the integration.
When you have populated the required fields, click Create.
The ticket is created and the Fuse Support team will configure the integration. You can track the progress of your ticket in the My Requests screen.
Searching for LinkedIn Learning content in Fuse
Once the integration has been set up, members of the community specified in the prerequisite steps, will be able to see LinkedIn Learning content in search results. Search results from Fuse and LinkedIn Learning are aggregated and sorted in order of relevance to your search query. Content is clearly labelled, so you can easily differentiate Linkedin Learning content from ordinary Fuse content. You can also filter the search results by source, so that you only see Fuse content or LinkedIn Learning content.
Filtering LinkedIn Learning content in Fuse search results
When searching for LinkedIn learning content, you can /wiki/spaces/Fuse/pages/3152871825 to narrow down the search results. You can select the LinkedIn Learning option under the Source filter, so that only LinkedIn Learning content items are returned, as well as filter the content by Type, Skill level, Topic, and Subject.
When you select the LinkedIn Learning facet, the following facets can be applied:
Facet | Description | ||
---|---|---|---|
Source | Allows you to filter courses, learning pathways (labeled as 'Learning Plans' in Fuse), and videos by source. If the LinkedIn Learning connector is enabled, you can filter to either show content sourced from LinkedIn Learning or Fuse. | ||
Type | Filter the list of LinkedIn Learning content by type, including learning pathways (known as 'Learning Plans' in Fuse), courses, and videos. | ||
Skill level | The skill level of the LinkedIn Learning content. For example, if you are looking for courses that are advanced level, select the advanced option to only show advanced courses. The following options can be selected:
| ||
Subject | The relevant subject area of the LinkedIn Learning content. This is high-level classification. Subjects in LinkedIn Learning typically contain several topics. For example, the Business Analysis and Strategy subject might include content that falls under the following topics: Business Analysis, Business Intelligence, Crisis Management, Data Analysis, and so on. | ||
Topic | The topic the LinkedIn Learning content comes under. Any available topics will be listed under the Topic filter. For example, items of content might be related to a topic called Programming Languages. Selecting this topic narrows down the list of LinkedIn Learning content to only show content related to programming languages.

When you search, Fuse may automatically apply filters and facets. For example, if you searched for "Advanced videos on Javascript". Fuse might analyse the terms Advanced, Videos and Javascript, and apply preexisting facets that match these terms, so that the results only show videos that are advanced level and are related to Javascript. |
Managing user visibility
You can manage which users see LinkedIn Learning content, by adding or removing users from the community specified in the prerequisite steps. For information on how to add and remove users from communities in Fuse, see Managing community members.
