Before you can use the Screen Recorder for the first time, you must install it. For information on how to install the Screen Recorder, see Installing the Screen Recorder

Launching the Screen Recorder

To launch the Screen Recorder:

Click the Record icon on the Fuse navigation bar.

A screen appears with the following message: "The Recorder has launched and should be showing soon on the screen". 

After a few seconds, the Screen Recorder will launch. 

Recording a video and uploading it to Fuse

Once a recorded video has been uploaded to Fuse, it is immediately removed from the Screen Recorder Manager. 

To record a video and upload it to Fuse: 

  1. In the Screen Recorder Manager, click the Record button. 

    The recorder opens.
  2. The select one of the following options: 
    • Screen: Allows you to record a video of your computer screen.
    • Webcam: Allows you to record yourself through your computer's webcam. 
    • Both: Allows you to record both your computer screen and webcam simultaneously. 
  3. Click the Rec button to start the recording. 

    Your recording begins. 
  4. To end the recording, click the Pause button. 
  5. [Optional] If you want to edit the video before saving it, click the edit icon.

    This takes you to a screen where you can change the zoom, as well as add annotations and text on top of the video. 
  6. Click Done

    The Preview screen appears. 
  7. To upload the video to Fuse, click the Upload to Fuse option. 
  8. Click Upload
  9. The video starts encoding/uploading.
    If you want to stop this process, click Stop Publish
  10. When the encoding and uploading has completed, click Continue
  11. The Describe your screencast screen opens in the web browser. Here you must enter a name and description for your video, as well as select the community in which the video will be published. 
  12. Click Save
    The content homepage for the video appears and Fuse starts processing the video. The video cannot be viewed while it is being processed. 

     When the video has finished processing, you will receive a notification and you can start viewing the video.
