Description

Pink Fuse post

8 October 2024

What’s new:

  • Video transcriptions: We’ve released our new Convert audio to text functionality in the Edit content screen. From now on, when editing a video, you'll see a Select video language dropdown that enables you to quickly and easily transcribe the video in a multitude of different languages. Simply select a language from the dropdown, click Convert, and the video is transcribed!

What’s been fixed:

  • Copy topics: In the previous release, we fixed an issue related to the copy topics functionality. After this fix was rolled out, we found that the following two issues had arisen as a result of the fix, which have now been resolved:

    • The progress spinner continually loaded even though the selected topic was copied across successfully.

    • Some uploaded files that were copied across with a topic (such as DOCX, XLSX, PPTX files) were not being displayed correctly. When users tried to open them by clicking the thumbnail in the topic, the file would download to the user's computer instead.

  • Custom topic report: In the previous release, we rolled out our new custom topic report. Unfortunately, we had to roll it back for customers on the Dublin stack due to a minor issue. We are happy to announce that this has now been resolved and the custom topic report is available to all customers on the Dublin stack.

  • Search: Occasionally, if an item of content had HTML and CSS in the description, some of the tags would show up on the search results card. This would also occur for articles that didn't have a description, and instead the tags would appear in place of a description on the results card.

For more details, see this post.

5 September 2024

What’s new:

  • You can now create custom topic reports in the Custom reports section of the Reporting (Beta) screen, which can be used to keep track of topic completions. As with all other custom reports, you can schedule and share it with other users on the platform, and you can refine and narrow the data in the report using filters.

What’s been fixed:

  • Some admins found that when they tried to copy a topic from one community to another on the Copy topics screen, the screen would continually load and the topic would not get copied across. This has now been fixed, and topics can once again be copied successfully from one community to another.

For more details, see this post.

What’s new:

  • Search: We've completed the process of removing indexing from the platform. Over the last few releases, we've been busy upgrading the search so that newly created items, including content, users, learning plans, and topics, no longer need to be indexed, meaning they'll appear in searches immediately. We've done this not only for Fuse's main search, but also for the smaller search bars on various different pages and widgets so that you can find new content right away, as soon as it is created.  As part of this work, we've also added IDs to items in drop-downs of micros search bars, making it easier for you to identify and differentiate items while searching for them, especially if they have the same or similar titles.

What's been fixed:

  • Knowledge intelligence thumbnails: Some users found that thumbnails for content, including videos, uploaded files, articles, and external links, were blurry. This was due to an issue with our search API and only impacted clients using our beta knowledge intelligence feed. This has been fixed, which means the thumbnails are now showing clearly again ready for launch alongside the widget builder.

  • Comments: In some cases, Fuse would show the wrong user's name next to a comment, specifically on the custom Join the Conversation widget. This has now been fixed, and the correct users are shown in comments under items of content.

For more details, see this post.

What’s new:

  • Fuse privacy policy: We've updated our privacy policy so that it is compliant with new EU and UK laws. This can be accessed by clicking the applicable links on the platform, including on cookie banners and on the login/reset password screen.

  • Search:

    • We've removed the need for indexing on both the Leaderboard screen and Leaderboard widget, meaning newly created users appear instantly on the leaderboard when filtering and searching it.

    • We've removed the need for indexing on the Have they seen it? widget, significantly improving the search experience within the widget. Content now appears in the results immediately instead of having to wait for it to be indexed first.

    • We've improved the performance of the GET: /search/keywords version 1.0 API endpoint, by significantly reducing indexing time. From now on, when you search using this endpoint, particularly for newly created content or users, the indexing of the query occurs instantly.

What's been fixed:

  • Scheduled posting: Some users were unable to schedule items of content as the platform was unable to return the available community for each scheduled post. This has now been fixed, meaning users can once again create scheduled posts successfully.

For more details, see this post.

11 July 2024

What’s new:

  • New custom event report: You can now create custom Event reports in the Reporting (Beta) screen, which can be used to keep track of events and event attendance, and includes lots of useful data, such as each attendee's user ID and event status, the name and ID of the event, and the ID of the occurrence the user is attending/has attended.

For more details, see this post.

27 June 2024

What’s new:

  • We've moved to a new auto-transcription provider, which allows for vastly improved performance and more accurate auto-transcriptions. Going forward, Fuse will auto-transcribe an uploaded video as long as it's in one of our supported languages and is 60 seconds or longer in duration.

What’s been fixed:

  • Some users found that when they edited or created an audience and tried to save it, the page would timeout. We've made some stability improvements so that this no longer happens.

  • If a community had HTML and CSS in its description, the tags would show in the description when the community was returned in search results. This has now been fixed, meaning HTML and CSS is no longer shown on community search result cards.

For more details, see this post.

30 May 2024

What is new:

Reporting

  • You can now filter the custom learning plan report by User assignment status.

  • To improve clarity, we've renamed the Completed date column in both the quick and custom learning plan reports to Last completed date.

  • To make it easier to identify when a user is unassigned, in the User assignment status column of quick and custom learning plan reports, unassigned users are now shown as Not assigned instead of NULL.

  • We've removed the Start date column from both quick and custom learning plan reports to make the report easier to understand, particularly when unassigned users have completed content items outside of learning plans. From now on, you'll only see Availability date.

  • Going forward, quick and custom learning plan reports will look at each user's completion percentage instead of their start date. This makes it easier to see when users have completed learning plans, especially when they have completed all the content without clicking the Start button on the learning plan.

For more details, see this post.
