This section includes information about the new Fuse search. If you are currently using Fuse's legacy search, see Legacy search.
Each item of content returned in the search results is represented as a card. Clicking on a card takes you to that particular item, where you can view it in further detail. Each card has an icon in the top-left corner indicating the item type, and displays any information that is relevant to that item type.
Information is only displayed on search results cards if it is available.
For example, an article card displays the Article icon, thumbnail, description, creation date, read time, author's name, and social information such as the number of views, likes, comments and shares the article has received.
The following item cards appear in Fuse search results:
Card | Description |

Article | Represents an article posted to Fuse. The card shows the Article icon, title, description, thumbnail, creation date, read time, author's name, and social information such as the number of views, likes, comments and shares. |
Community | Represents a community in Fuse that you have permission to see. This might be a community you are currently a member of or one that you are not a member of. The card shows the Community icon, community name, description, and community type (Open, Public, Private or Protected). |
Course | Represents a SCORM course that has been uploaded to Fuse. The card shows the course icon, course name, description, author's name, creation date, and social information such as the number of views, likes, comments and shares. |
Event | Represents an event in Fuse and all occurrences created within the event. The card shows the Event icon, title, description, thumbnail, and clickable links to each occurrence (with the date, time, timezone, location and host). Only future occurrences are listed. Once an occurence has taken place, it is no longer visible on the card. To see past occurrences, you must view the event in Fuse. |
File | Represents an uploaded file in Fuse, such as a Word document, PowerPoint presentation, Excel spreadsheet, PDF and so on. The card shows the icon, title, description, author's name, creation date, and social information such as the number of views, likes, comments and shares. Where applicable, a label is displayed on the card indicating the specific file type. In the example below, the label shows that the file is a Microsoft Word file. For file types not listed below, the default ‘File’ label is displayed. The following type-specific labels are shown:

Learning Plan | Represents a learning plan in Fuse. The card shows the Learning Plan icon, title, description, thumbnail and the creation date. The ability to see a learning plan in search results is dependant on settings selected in the Visibility tab of the Learning plan editor. Link | Represents a link posted to Fuse. The card shows the Link icon, the link title, description, thumbnail, the user who posted the link, creation date, and social information such as the number of views, likes, comments and shares. |
People | Represents a user in Fuse. The card shows the People icon, the user's forename and surname, the user type, and thumbnail. Search results only display users from communities you belong to. |
Question | Represents a question posted to Fuse. The card shows the Question icon, the text of the question, the description, thumbnail, author’s name, creation date, and social information such as the number of views, likes, comments and shares. |
Video | Represents a video that has been uploaded to Fuse. The card shows the Video icon, a thumbnail, title, description, author's name, creation date, and social information such as the number of views, likes, comments and shares. You cannot play or preview a video directly in the card. |
Topic | Represents a topic created in Fuse. The card shows the Topic icon, title, description, thumbnail, creation date, and the number of content items that exist within the topic. |
