Pink Fuse post

What’s new:
Fuse4: We've just launched Fuse4. This first release of Fuse4 comes with a bunch of new features and improvements, giving you a sleeker, more modern and easier to use platform, with more to come in future releases. Some of the key improvements and changes in this release are as follows:
New and improved navigation: We’ve introduced a new navigation in the form of an expandable and collapsable side navigation that offers a familiar user interface similar to other popular apps, significantly reducing the learning curve and displaying all important and available features in an intuitive manner.
The “You” screen: In this first release of Fuse4, we’re laying the groundwork for the You screen, which will evolve into a key destination for users seeking clarity and direction in their learning journey. This screen centralises all personalised content, including assigned learning plans, upcoming events and communities, as well as easy access to relevant content.
Save useful and important items: You can now quickly and conveniently save an item that is useful or important to you by clicking the Save icon on it. Save communities, topics, learning plans, events, and content that you regularly interact with, and they'll appear in the Saved screen so that you always know where they are.
History and saved items: We’ve moved the history feature out of the profile screen and into its own dedicated section on the side navigation. Additionally, we recognised that users frequently used the favourites icon and wished for more flexibility beyond 20 items, which means from now on you will have a dedicated screen to view and manage all saved items. This lays the ground work for further additions and improvements, such as allowing you to build your own playlists and more in the future.
Search in context: We’ve emphasised contextual searching by relocating the global search to the side navigation, creating a cleaner experience. For example, when viewing learning plans, you can now search and filter results specific to that context without confusion. Furthermore, we’re making search its own dedicated screen, allowing you to easily find answers and explore content such as events, learning plans, and experts.
New landing pages for communities, topics, learning plans, and events: We've rebuilt the landing pages for communities, topics, learning plans, and events. These include sleek new cards and thumbnails, and now you can search through each respective landing page using the in-page search bar, apply filters, and, for communities, topics and events, create them via the landing page.
Optimised screen space: Fuse4 supports different device sizes and can be easily viewed on desktop, smart phones, tablets and other devices.
Reporting: We've released our new Formal assessment Q&A report. This quick report provides a list of users and their progress on formal assessments attached to topics and includes the details of the topic and the assessment, but also includes the details of specific assessment questions along with the answers given by each user.
Example: This report allows you to see the questions inside an assessment attached to a topic. Being able to see the specific questions and the given answers can be extremely useful when identifying patterns and why they happen, such as identifying why users frequently fail assessments or answer certain questions incorrectly time after time.
Such as:
If lots of users frequently get a particular question wrong, it may need to be reworded so that they understand it better.
If lots of users are frequently failing an assessment, the content in the topic itself may need to be amended or updated so that users understand it better and therefore are more likely to understand and pass the assessment.
Reporting: You can now create custom formal assessment reports on the Reporting screen. This custom report allows you to generate a list of users and their completion status for formal assessments attached to topics, including details such as the topic name and ID, the assessment ID, the user's completion date, raw score, current assessment status (Started, Passed or Failed), and the assessment result, shown as a percentage.
Search: From now on, answers produced by our AI Answers feature will include:
A piece of introductory text stating that the given answer has been generated from the quoted content sources.
A piece of text underneath that reminds users to check the original content sources being referenced in the answer.
What’s been fixed:
Incorrect colours displayed on UI elements: Some users found that certain UI elements on their platform, such as toggles, buttons, selectors, and pieces of text, were showing in the wrong colours, such as pink instead of the usual predefined colour scheme for their platform. This has been fixed, meaning that those UI elements are showing in the correct colours once again.
Search: Occasionally, when an item of content had HTML in the body, formatting errors would occur in answers produced by the AI Answers feature. This has now been fixed, meaning the answers are once again formatted correctly.
We've introduced a new question type called File upload to both observations and surveys so that users filling them out can upload a file as answer.
We've added a new observation-related permission to the Admin groups screen: Complete all observations. This permission is extremely useful for when your organisation has users in training or coaching roles who are required to carry out regular observations of other users to assess their progress without being their direct manager or having access to full observation-related admin permissions.
If a user belongs to an admin group with this permission enabled:
They can see the Observations option on the side menu and can access the main Observations screen
They can carry out observations on their own reportees (if they have reportees) but they can also carry out observations on any other user on the platform by searching for and selecting them on the screen
They cannot access the full observation admin functionality, such as the ability to create, edit, manage and delete observation templates (unless they have the Observations permission enabled as well)
To start an observation, the user can search for the user's name on the Observations screen and then select them
Reporting: Following some feedback, we've made a minor improvement to the custom content report. From now on, the text in the optional Description column of the report will no longer feature paragraphing, line breaks, or tabbing, and instead content descriptions shown in the report will appear in one block of text regardless of how it was formatted on the platform, greatly improving the overall readability and decreasing the length of the report.
What’s been fixed:
Search: Ordinarily, when a user searches in Fuse, all content that matches their query is returned, including videos with transcripts that contain the keywords or phrases from the query; however, some users noticed when searching that videos with matching transcripts were not appearing in search results even though they contained the keyword or phrase that was searched for. This has now been fixed, and matching videos are once again returned successfully.
Custom content report: You can now create custom content reports on the Reporting screen. This custom report allows you to generate a list of content on the platform and includes lots of useful data such as each item's title, ID, type, creation date, engagement metrics (including the number of likes, views, shares, and comments), and the communities and topics to which it belongs.
We’ve moved the new reporting screen out of beta: We've moved our new Reporting screen out of beta, and as part of this, we’ve:
Changed the name of the Reporting (Beta) screen to just Reporting
Changed the label of our old reporting screen from Reporting to Reporting (Legacy) to differentiate between the older and newer reporting functionality
We've renamed the old Reporting permission in the Admin groups screen to Reporting (Legacy)
We've renamed the Reporting (Beta) permission in the Admin groups screen to Reporting
API: We've released a new version of our API, v5.0, along with some security enhancements. When using previous versions of the API, you are required to obtain an authentication token to make use of the APIs. From v5.0 onwards, we've introduced rotating tokens, which automatically expire and renew at regular intervals, meaning that you must obtain the latest token in order to authenticate successfully. This is done using the POST/session endpoint.
Improved transcription messaging: We've made improvements to error messages displayed during the transcription process to ensure they are clear and informative, in particular for auto-transcriptions during uploads and when manually triggering transcriptions for existing videos on the platform.
Video transcriptions: We’ve released our new Convert audio to text functionality in the Edit content screen. From now on, when editing a video, you'll see a Select video language dropdown that enables you to quickly and easily transcribe the video in a multitude of different languages. Simply select a language from the dropdown, click Convert, and the video is transcribed!
What’s been fixed:
Copy topics: In the previous release, we fixed an issue related to the copy topics functionality. After this fix was rolled out, we found that the following two issues had arisen as a result of the fix, which have now been resolved:
The progress spinner continually loaded even though the selected topic was copied across successfully.
Some uploaded files that were copied across with a topic (such as DOCX, XLSX, PPTX files) were not being displayed correctly. When users tried to open them by clicking the thumbnail in the topic, the file would download to the user's computer instead.
Custom topic report: In the previous release, we rolled out our new custom topic report. Unfortunately, we had to roll it back for customers on the Dublin stack due to a minor issue. We are happy to announce that this has now been resolved and the custom topic report is available to all customers on the Dublin stack.
Search: Occasionally, if an item of content had HTML and CSS in the description, some of the tags would show up on the search results card. This would also occur for articles that didn't have a description, and instead the tags would appear in place of a description on the results card.
You can now create custom topic reports in the Custom reports section of the Reporting (Beta) screen, which can be used to keep track of topic completions. As with all other custom reports, you can schedule and share it with other users on the platform, and you can refine and narrow the data in the report using filters.
What’s been fixed:
Some admins found that when they tried to copy a topic from one community to another on the Copy topics screen, the screen would continually load and the topic would not get copied across. This has now been fixed, and topics can once again be copied successfully from one community to another.
Search: We've completed the process of removing indexing from the platform. Over the last few releases, we've been busy upgrading the search so that newly created items, including content, users, learning plans, and topics, no longer need to be indexed, meaning they'll appear in searches immediately. We've done this not only for Fuse's main search, but also for the smaller search bars on various different pages and widgets so that you can find new content right away, as soon as it is created. As part of this work, we've also added IDs to items in drop-downs of micros search bars, making it easier for you to identify and differentiate items while searching for them, especially if they have the same or similar titles.
What's been fixed:
Knowledge intelligence thumbnails: Some users found that thumbnails for content, including videos, uploaded files, articles, and external links, were blurry. This was due to an issue with our search API and only impacted clients using our beta knowledge intelligence feed. This has been fixed, which means the thumbnails are now showing clearly again ready for launch alongside the widget builder.
Comments: In some cases, Fuse would show the wrong user's name next to a comment, specifically on the custom Join the Conversation widget. This has now been fixed, and the correct users are shown in comments under items of content.
Fuse privacy policy: We've updated our privacy policy so that it is compliant with new EU and UK laws. This can be accessed by clicking the applicable links on the platform, including on cookie banners and on the login/reset password screen.
Search:
We've removed the need for indexing on both the Leaderboard screen and Leaderboard widget, meaning newly created users appear instantly on the leaderboard when filtering and searching it.
We've removed the need for indexing on the Have they seen it? widget, significantly improving the search experience within the widget. Content now appears in the results immediately instead of having to wait for it to be indexed first.
We've improved the performance of the GET: /search/keywords version 1.0 API endpoint, by significantly reducing indexing time. From now on, when you search using this endpoint, particularly for newly created content or users, the indexing of the query occurs instantly.
What's been fixed:
Scheduled posting: Some users were unable to schedule items of content as the platform was unable to return the available community for each scheduled post. This has now been fixed, meaning users can once again create scheduled posts successfully.
New custom event report: You can now create custom Event reports in the Reporting screen, which can be used to keep track of events and event attendance, and includes lots of useful data, such as each attendee's user ID and event status, the name and ID of the event, and the ID of the occurrence the user is attending/has attended.
We've moved to a new auto-transcription provider, which allows for vastly improved performance and more accurate auto-transcriptions. Going forward, Fuse will auto-transcribe an uploaded video as long as it's in one of our supported languages and is 60 seconds or longer in duration.
What’s been fixed:
Some users found that when they edited or created an audience and tried to save it, the page would timeout. We've made some stability improvements so that this no longer happens.
If a community had HTML and CSS in its description, the tags would show in the description when the community was returned in search results. This has now been fixed, meaning HTML and CSS is no longer shown on community search result cards.
To improve clarity, we've renamed the Completed date column in both the quick and custom learning plan reports to Last completeddate.
To make it easier to identify when a user is unassigned, in the User assignment status column of quick and custom learning plan reports, unassigned users are now shown as Not assigned instead of NULL.
We've removed the Start date column from both quick and custom learning plan reports to make the report easier to understand, particularly when unassigned users have completed content items outside of learning plans. From now on, you'll only see Availability date.
Going forward, quick and custom learning plan reports will look at each user's completion percentage instead of their start date. This makes it easier to see when users have completed learning plans, especially when they have completed all the content without clicking the Start button on the learning plan.
We've added the All reports tab to the Reporting (Beta) screen, which enables site admins to see reports that have been generated across their platform
We've added the Shared with me tab to the Reporting (Beta) screen, which enables users to see which reports have been shared with them
We've added a new, permanent admin group to the Admin groups screen, which can be used to grant or revoke access to shared reports
We've added a "User assignment status" column to custom learning plan reports to help you identify how each user was assigned
