IMPORTANT: Soon we will be releasing our smart connectors, which will replace our legacy connectors in this section. Our smart connectors will allow you to quickly and easily integrate with a multitude of platforms and external content sources such as learning content libraries and learning management systems (LMS). Due to this, we are no longer accepting requests for our legacy LinkedIn Learning and Udemy for Business connectors. |
The LinkedIn Learning connector surfaces LinkedIn Learning content in Fuse search results, including learning pathways (labelled as 'Learning Plans' in Fuse), courses and videos. All LinkedIn Learning content features a LinkedIn logo to help differentiate it from natively produced Fuse content, such as articles, links and questions, or files uploaded to Fuse. When you click on an item of LinkedIn Learning content in Fuse search results, a new browser tab opens and you are taken to the original content in LinkedIn Learning.
...
LinkedIn Learning content surfaced through this connector is only accessible in Fuse search results. This means it cannot be opened within Fuse and cannot be added to topics, learning plans or communities. However, you can manually add URLs of LinkedIn Learning content items to Fuse external links, which can then be added to learning plans and topics. For more information see Can I add LinkedIn Learning content to topics and learning plans using a link?.
LinkedIn Learning content surfaced in Fuse search results automatically synchronises with LinkedIn Learning, which means it is always up to date.
Users must have a valid LinkedIn Learning licence to view the content in LinkedIn Learning.
Social information such as views, comments, likes and shares only apply to Fuse content, and so, are not available for LinkedIn Learning content.
Prerequisites steps
Before users can see LinkedIn Learning content in Fuse search results, your Fuse admin must raise a LinkedIn Learning Connector Request ticket with Support, so that the integration can be configured. See the steps below for how to do this.
The ticket must include:
Client ID: Your LinkedIn Learning client ID, generated in LinkedIn Learning.
Client secret: Your LinkedIn Learning client secret, generated in LinkedIn Learning.
Community ID: By default, all Fuse users will see LinkedIn Learning content in search results. However, you can control which users can see LinkedIn Learning content in search results, by specifying a community ID. Any user who is a member of this community will see LinkedIn Learning content in Fuse search results, and any user who is not, will be unable to see the content.
1. Set up a LinkedIn Learning community
In order to control which users see LinkedIn Learning content, you must set up a community and add users with LinkedIn Learning licenses to it. Only members of this community will see LinkedIn Learning content in Fuse search results. Any users outside the community will be unable to see it. The community can contain Fuse content or it can be completely empty, and it can be any type, including open, protected, private or public.
Info |
---|
The community serves only to determine which users see content from LinkedIn Learning in search results. The LinkedIn Learning content does not exist within the community itself. |
Note |
---|
If you do not want to create a new community specifically for this purpose, you can use one that already exists in Fuse. |
2. Generate a client ID and client secret
If you do not have a client ID and secret, you can generate them in LinkedIn Learning. For information on how to do this, see this page in LinkedIn's official documentation.
3. Raise a ticket with Support
You must raise a Customer Support ticket with your organisation's LinkedIn Learning client ID, client secret, and the ID of the community containing members with access to LinkedIn Learning content.
Please include the following details in the support ticket:
Summary: Provide a brief summary of your request.
LinkedIn Client ID: Provide your LinkedIn Learning client ID, as generated in LinkedIn Learning.
LinkedIn Client Secret: Provide your LinkedIn learning secret, as generated in LinkedIn Learning.
LinkedIn community ID: Provide the ID of the community you have set up. This is the community that controls which users see LinkedIn learning content in Fuse search results.
- Fuse instance: Provide the URL of your Fuse instance ([companyname].fuseuniversal.com).
