Fuse Single sign-on (SSO) support

You can streamline authentication on the Fuse platform using single sign-on (SSO). 

If your organisation has the necessary SSO identity provider (IDP) infrastructure (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra, Okta, Ping Identity, etc.), then this can be extended to provide access to Fuse as a service provider (SP). 

Once it has been set up, users will be able to seamlessly click through to Fuse after authenticating with your organisation’s SSO, meaning users won’t need to remember separate usernames and passwords for the Fuse platform.

Benefits of SSO

• SSO enhances security by providing centralised management of user credentials and passwords, rather than each application storing separate passwords. 

• Users only need to remember one password.

• Organisations can enable or disable access to the Fuse platform centrally and enforce standard password controls.

• SSO authentication helps to simplify integrations between Fuse and your other systems. 

• SSO is a dependency on other functionality such as Multi Factor Authentication (MFA).

Fuse SSO

Fuse fully supports SAML 2.0-based SSO. This is the most widely implemented SSO mechanism today.

Configuration

Ordinarily, our team will set up and configure SSO as part of your initial Fuse implementation, but this can be done whenever required. Currently, Fuse does not charge for SSO. 

Configuration is quick and is typically done over a call with your organisation’s IT team. Once configured, users will have the same flow whether they are accessing Fuse through a web browser or the native Fuse mobile app.

Forced login

Fuse SSO can be ‘forced’ so that users never see the Fuse login screen. All access will be seamless once users have previously logged into your organisation’s SSO (IDP).

Dual login

Alternatively, Fuse can support dual login options, which allow both SSO options and username/password login options on the Fuse login screen. This is common if you need to support both internal users (who have SSO accounts) and external users (who do not).

Fuse will link SSO to the username or the email address of the user.
