Observations tab

The Observational Assessments tab displays insights related to observational assessments in Fuse, based on filters selected in the Filter By section.

This includes:

  • The number of observational assessments created in Fuse.

  • The number of users being observed (over the last 6 months).

  • The number of managers observing their entire team through observational assessments.

A manager can carry out an observation for each of their reportees, to assess their performance and provide constructive feedback on how they can improve in the future. An observation can be viewed retrospectively by both the manager and reportee. For example, a user might lack specific knowledge essential for performing safely at work, such as food hygiene standards needed when working in a kitchen. The manager might assess the user and then suggest ways in which they can fill that gap in their knowledge, such suggesting a course they could take. Research shows that users who receive feedback and coaching on a regular basis perform better at their job.

For information on observations and how to create them, see Observation.

Notes:

  • Only a manager has the ability to start an observation.

  • Users without a manager cannot be observed. Fuse admins can assign a manager to a user, in the user's Personal settings screen.
